Becoming Yourself

A topless beach in Spain. An unmarked trail in the woods of Michigan. An encounter with a special needs gardener. A tree shrouded labyrinth. A cemetery with a hidden sundial.

A Spanish beach

Wherever I go, I’m searching for myself. My True Self. The Real Me. The one deep inside. I believe I’m in there, waiting to be discovered, to be developed, to be released. A better version of the person I am today.

So I’m keeping my eyes open. I’m looking for clues, for signposts that show me who I am and who I can become. And I’m catching glimpses everywhere. Sometimes they are as bright as a bolt of fire. More often they’re subtle, half-hidden within everyday occurrences, waiting to be noticed.

I’ve decided to share my journey here with the hope that some of what I’m learning will make the path a little clearer for someone else. Many writers and teachers, friends and strangers, have lit a lamp for me. For that I’m deeply grateful. I’ll be passing along plenty of their wisdom too.

If you want to develop a better you, I’d love some company on the road. We can work on our spirits, our minds, our relationships. We can search for truth, embrace mystery and appreciate beauty together. I invite you to join me in Becoming Yourself.
